Kajsa Balto´ s album Rájás (on the border) was released on Norway´ s national day May 17th 2024. Kajsa's father was among the Sámi children who were sent to boarding schools as part of Norway's forced assimilation policy. Through her music, Kajsa processes the consequences of this dark chapter in recent Sámi and Norwegian history, and honors her father's struggle to pass on the Sámi heritage to his daughter.

My dad always talks about strong friendships, friends who went through fire for each other, time and time again, and who have continued to support each other through life.
